Christmas Book Haul

Part 1 of my Christmas book haul. Excited for Part 2 to arrive, hopefully, next week. I’m in a bit of a YA Fantasy mood.

What’s Not Said, A Novel by Valerie Taylor

Image
As a reviewer for iReadBookTours, I was very excited to read ‘What’s Not Said’ by Valerie Taylor. From the first page to the last, the reader is kept guessing how things will turn out. Kassie O’Callaghan is planning on leaving her husband and her long-dead marriage of the past few years, in order to be with a young man who pays her the attention she is looking for. Kassie’s husband, Mike, is a man that is not very likable and it is easy to want to see Kassie move on with her life. But Mike interrupts her plans of divorce due to a long-held secret involving a chronic disease. Mike needs Kassie to stick around and provide him the care he needs. Throughout the story, you see and experience the strained relationship between Kassie and Mike, and you find yourself just wanting them to be done. But then there’s another twist of more secrets and more deception. Will she stay? Will she go?

The Devil and Dayna Dalton by Brit Lunden

Image
Author Brit Lunden does not disappoint in The Devil and Dayna Dalton which is book 9 in the BULWARK Anthology.  Her fast-paced easy reads suck you in from the very beginning. You can’t help but not want to know more about the residents of BULWARK. In book 9, you get to learn more about Ms. Dayna Dalton who you only catch a glimpse of in the first book, BULWARK. You become more aware of Dayna and her love for a certain sheriff but that is quickly changes with a new, and more dangerous, mystery man or creature. Find what out happens and if Dayna finds her possibly happily ever after.

The Knowing by Brit Lunden

Another great read from author, Brit Lunden, who provides a little more insight into the life of JB Stratton who originally appeared in the BULWARK. It’s a great love story between two people, JB and Ellie, who were destined for each other. You can’t help but get wrapped up in their story from those euphoric feelings of new love and even some heartbreak. There’s no doubt that once you pick this up, you won’t put it down!

BULWARK by Brit Lunden

Brit Lunden’s, BULWARK, is a fast-paced easy read that keeps you guessing to the point that you don’t want to put it down! It immediately begins with a mysterious pond, a sheriff whose life becomes even more complicated outside of his deteriorating marriage, and reports of wolf sightings and even possible evidence leading to the existence of vampires? One thing is for sure, that Bulwark is no ordinary place! Brit Lunden

The Guest Book by Sarah Blake

Image
Three chapters in and I have already teared up, got a lump in my throat and nearly cried. I am always drawn to historical fictional reads. I am completely swept away with this book. It's a multi-generational family saga intertwining components of power and privilege; racism; and anti-semitism. A definite MUST READ!!!

Crooked Kingdome by Leigh B Ardugo

Finishing up the duology with Crooked Kingdom. I completely fell in love with these misfits and thieves, or should I say survivors. This is a definite MUST READ series!!!

Six of Crows by Leigh B Ardugo

Well, I had to abandon The Starless Sea. It just wasn’t grabbing my attention. I’ll revisit it again, sometimes it takes a couple attempts and then voila! It clicks. So instead of torturing myself, I’m going to try this one. I really am hoping that this is not another book slump. My last one lasted 3+ months!!! Crossing fingers with this one If this doesn’t catch my attention, I’ll be changing genres. UPDATE: I ABSOLUTELY LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK AND COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
